Just received my National Cycle Hand Wind Deflectors. Didn’t seem like different gloves or liners would keep my fingers from freezing (I think I have bad circulation in my fingers and toes), so I thought by deflecting the wind off my hands would be a tremendous help. I know it’s helped my feet by having my engine guard chaps deflecting the wind from my feet.
So now that a front is blowing through bringing in much cooler weather, I can’t wait to try them out. I had also purchased some of those hot packs to put in my gloves for those longer and colder rides.
Amazon had them for only $60, where everywhere else had them on sale for $87 something and they retail for $89. I looked up the proper number for my bike and ordered them on Amazon – took all of 2 days to arrive at my door step. They are held in by the mirror posts and took all of a few seconds to attach them to the bike.

Although your solution is cheaper, I personally don't like the look so I bought electric gloves, they work great.

Sounds like some good ideas for keeping warm.
Anyone else like to chime in on clothing or items to make riding in the cold easier.

I did remember you saying something about electric gloves when we were in Navasota. I did try to find some information about them, but decided to get the wind deflectors. Since down here in Houston is doesn't get that cold for that long, I thought slipping the warmers between my gloves and glove liners would do the trick for the really cold days.
Have yall seen the handlebar mittens? They go over your hand grip controls and cover your hands. I've only seen one or two riders using them, but it wasn't a solution I wanted to go with.

Yes I have seen them and I have used them, but it was on a four wheeler not a motorcycle but same principal, and as far as I'm concerned they are a PITA. I ride alot with one hand on the bars, when your using the handlebar mittens if you remove your hand at any speed over idle it's a pain to get your hand back inside them to your controls.

Thanks for the post!! Of course I got about a mile from the house (on my way home) and the left side got loose. . . didn't fall off, just flapped in the breeze some. I'll get a better grip on it this weekend.

I, too got mine from Amazon. . . Was really surprised that they arrived 2 days later! I got them for the same price as you did and felt I saved about $30 by ordering from Amazon.

Yup, those look exacly like the ones I just put on my bike. For the reason you mentioned, I always carry a crescent wrench (with a coated handle so as not to scratch something) in my saddle bag just in case something comes lose. Yes, good quuick service from Amazon and it was cheeper than any other place I found. Great minds think alike!

Hey Yall! and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
I see Del Lobo posted a picture of my wind deflectors! They look great in THAT photo. . . Now, that particular one is pretty scratched up. . . had a "run-over" with a speed bump. . . I bottomed out after the front wheel when over. . . lost my balance and eased her down.
Then came close to panic. . . couldn't get her to go but 2 inches at a time after that. . . then took a great sigh. . . the deflectors were bent toward the front brake lever. . . bent it back out and everything worked! Whew!!!
Anyhooter. . . I notice they work best in the spring and fall, they keep the "love bugs" off your fingers!
