I was lookin thru some parts catalog's yesterday. The prices , on parts, are almost as bad as the price of gas.....Exhaust systems for instance, checked out a system I wouldn't mind having. I almost vapor locked at the price. How in the world can they charge a fellow 718.00 for two exhaust pipes and two mufflers, and still sleep at night...Maybe it's a sign of living to long, but I can still remember buying a set of 36'' drags for my Wide Glide for less than a c-note. Well I guess I'll stop whining for now. I just was wondering if ya'll felt the same way........vapor locked.....be safe......txboogyman

I agree - I was very lucky that a friend who had owned a 1500 Classic Fi just like mine had an extra set of Cobra pipes - he just gave them to me.
I just bought a break rotor - for some reason, the retail price is $200! It's getting very difficult to afford anything extra for the bike. I guess I was lucky/unlucky to have had a spill on the bike that allowed me to have it re-pained. I couldn't have afforded it otherwise.

You know, there is a lot of r&d on everything they mfg. but it is almost a case of theft. I really feel sorry for the dealers, they are the ones that have to deal with the people who want these products. Don't have a clue on how they keep their doors open. My Kaw. dealer in Amarillo apologizes every time I price something. OH WELL.....if you play you got to pay....right.. be safe..... txboogyman

I find lots of stuff on ebay. Some of it is new but you have to really look into it before you send in your bid. If you need a replacement part then get it at the only place that will back its quality and thats the dealer. I have Progressive Insurance (Full Coverage) and they cover everything after market, if I do have an accident of some kind and live to make a claim, they will cover its replacement.

The profit margin you would think is insane. I appreciate quality construction and all but this is government grade pricing. I was impatient and wanted to ride my bike home from the dealer. They were going to put my add-ons for me and I to leave it a week. I could not wait and am almost certain I ended up paying more for those actions. Central Texas Powersports has something called a "Pit Pass" and it covers normal maint minus tread replacement. BT020 front and rear installed was $314.00 www.ctpowersports.comBig Air Kit Power Shots Performance Commander Shield and passenger floor boards, OEM saddlebags, OEM Sissy and rack. VN2000 05' with 7k on it as of this weekend. CTec
